The staff was extremely friendly and for example hinted a cheaper parking slot in front of the hotel that I had missed vs. their own carage. Hotel was easy to access with car and was in ok location for our purpose (just to stay overnight before venturing to Cinque Terre next day). Breakfast wasn't exactly plentiful but adequate for our needs.

The Nautilus Hotel completely exceeded my expectations! The rooms and amenities are basic, but the hotel is clean, comfortable, and well located (the train station is easily accessible by bus) - and the hotel manager was wonderful! My friend and I had trouble finding a taxi the day we left, and she and her husband were so kind in helping us. I would definitely recommend it if you’re looking for an affordable, comfortable home base from which to explore the Cinque Terre.
Hotel Aurora offers simply furnished rooms with a private or shared bathroom and TV, plus free Wi-Fi in public areas. It is located in central La Spezia, right opposite the train station.

Spacious rooms, good location and breakfast was fantasic
La Spezia is one of those typical cities of the Liguria Region where colourful houses cover hills and cliffs, providing panoramic views over the sea. Thousands of years of history and a heart open towards the sea have shaped the character of this town surrounded by the 'Cinque Terre'.
Located on the coast of the namesake gulf, its proximity to Genoa has greatly influenced its development and culture. Take a walk uphill from the harbour, and admire the display of architectonic styles in the Old Town. Some of the best hotels in La Spezia are located here, while elegant guesthouses and villas with gulf views can be found in the highest areas.
Must-see sites in the city are the 13th-century Church of Our Lady of the Assumption and St George’s Castle. The ‘Sea Festival’ is organized every summer, and its highlight is the rowing competition ‘Palio del Golfo’, a race between the 13 villages of the gulf. Departing from the port of La Spezia, boats can take you to the enchanted ‘Cinque Terre’.
The harbour is a 15-minute walk from La Spezia Central Station, and Genoa’s Cristoforo Colombo Airport is 105 km away. While planning your trip, check out Booking.com’s accommodation deals in La Spezia.

We spent four nights in La Spezia which was just right for us. We visited Portofino and Cinque Terre and as our hotel was very close to the railway station this was very convenient for travelling .We did contemplate going to Lucca but changed our mind and spent a day in La Spezia. It is a nice wee town with lots of local shops (no big bands only Zara) and lots of lovely restaurants. We had a nice walking through the town, the park and down to the ferry port and had a lovely lunch. We came back to La Spezia every night to eat as this was convenient and as I said had a good choice of restaurants at reasonable prices. There is also the regular ferry to and from Cinque Terre which is a great trip.

La Spezia is always presented as a working port , with no tourist value. We found it to be a good looking , relaxed city , plenty of eateries and cafes , pedestrian areas to walk and a great transport hub. While my friends did the Cinque Terre walk , I made a very easy 90 min journey by train to Lucca.
Infact , it was very nice to be in a town that was just going about its own business.

I have been to La Spezia before.
I have been to La Spezia before. It is very cosmopolitan and I particularly like the traffic free pedestrian area in the centre. Lots of lovely shops. Great for access to boat and rail trips to The Cinque Terre, Lerici and Portovenere

We are a family of 3 with a small child of 4 years age. We planned our itinery based on the weather forecast. We visited Cinque Terre for 1.5 days, followed by Pisa + Lucca on a day and rounded our trip by visiting the top attractions in La Spezia for few hours. I liked visiting the technical naval museum, crossing The Thaon di Revel Bridge walking along ,Costantino Morin Promenade, strolling through Via Del Prione & Corso Cavour. My son loved playing at the play area in Public Gardens. We loved eating Farinata @ Murphy's in La Spezia.

La Spezia was a great place to be based to visit Cinque Terre. The town does have a lot of graffiti though, which we initially regarded as being off putting, however we did not feel unsafe when we were there.

La Spezia is a great place to stay if doing the Cinque Terre trail. It is a nice spot with lots of shops and restaurants. November seems to be a quiet time for the area, we imagine it would have been busier and more atmospheric during summer months.
The room was charming and lovely. Well decorated and cosy.
There’s an air conditioner which is super helpful in hot Italian summer.
The location is great – close to train station which is very convenient for going to Cinque Terre.
The stuff is friendly. We arrived late and they made the check in super easy with a video.
I suggest parking in a free car park 10 min walk away rather than paying.
Not related to the hotel but you could also stay in Levanto or other towns north of Cinque Terre which are nicer than La Spezia.
The stay was amazing. The room was perfect for our family of 5, and the terrace was great to eat meals and sit out in the evening and the morning. It is located in the heart of La Spezia. Lots of shops and eating choices everywhere. Very short walk to the market. Close to the train station...10 min walk. Loved the restaurants nearby. We are definitely coming back and staying at this gem of a place. La Spezia was the highlight of our 2 week tour of Italy.
The location of the hotel was perfect for our needs in LaSpezia, tucked away from the main pedestrian boulevard, a quiet oasis. Guillermo met us as we arrived, and was very informative, professional and helped us with dining reservations! We met other members of his family, and everyone was so kind and helpful. Breakfast was provided at a nearby cafe, the fresh squeezed orange juice was delicious, coffee and pastries very satisfying.
Hotel is located in the bustling port area and my room had a wonderful view of the port. Very clean, modern, comfortable and quiet room and the fresh breakfast every morning was very good. Staff were very friendly and helpful. The hotel is ideally located for exploring the sights, restaurants and bars of La Spezia and is a very good base for accessing the Cinque Terre and Porto Venere.
The little hotel is driven by a wonderful woman, the rooms, very spacey, are totally new and beautifully decorated. Perfect bed and perfect bathroom. Outside a well kept garden with pool.
The most amazing breakfast, where the hosts bakes fantastic bread and cakes for the guests every morning.
The hotel is placed on a hill from which one can see a powerful view over La Spezia harbour.
We arrived in the city of La Spezia as a crossing point for Cinque Terre. We were very surprised by the lively city. The location of the hotel was great right on the pedestrian street, the room was very clean and modern.
We also found car parking in an area close to the hotel.
Breakfast is one of the cafes next to the hotel. It was nice and tasty.
Friendly staff and very well located hotel in La Spezia near the train station. This is convenient for day trips by train to visit Cinque Terre. A laundromat is located close by and from the hotel one could walk along a pedestrian street to see the town, and have dinner at one of the many restaurants, and visit the local market in the morning .
The place is very clean, a little quiet, perfect for staying in Italy. The host was kind, very helpful with information about the main attractions that are nearby and how to get there. She was also very kind to leave us to the near train station when we needed it and to pick us up from there.
The place has a private parking.
Loved this place, what a find! The staff were so easy to work with, and it was a short 5 minute walk from the train station. The room was beautiful and our favorite during our 5-city tour of Italy. I only wish we'd stayed one more night! Might be silly, but it was the best hotel hair dryer we used.
Everything was absolutely exceptional from the moment I arrived at the Millstone House. The staff went above and beyond to make sure the stay was comfortable, beyond anything I’ve seen even at ritzy 5 star hotels. Breakfast was also fantastic and the rooms were very clean and comfortable.
It’s an apartment and not a hotel. Not nice when u enter for my standards. The room have a really bad odor of some kind of cleaner. Wes burning my wife’s eye and hard to breath in. We left the room in 5 minutes after arrived Would never stay at this location
Riccardo war super - die Kommunikation per WhatsApp and Mail was easy, he welcomed us at the time it fit to us and gave us many tips regarding the Cinque Terre and restaurants in La Spezia.
The room was very clean and bigger than many others in Italy.
I liked the cleanliness. The bedding and towels smelled and felt fresh like a 5 star hotel. Also, the hosts are very friendly and helpful. The check in process was as easy as making a phone call. It was a near perfect stay.
Comfortable hotel with a lot of Italian charm. The hostess is really pleasant and helpful. Ideal location in the center of La Spezia. Really clean room, with every day maintenance and changing towels.
